On Monday after school Mommy and I popped in at a potential school to see if it would be suitable for me. As we left the skies opened up and we finally had our first summer thunderstorm. At home I screamed in delight dodging the rain running to our apartment.
Dad was already waiting for us, and with him was a tutor that came for an interview and to meet with me – it was one of the options we’re looking into. I really liked her and immediately showed her all my toys and my bedroom. After the tutor left, Mom and I splashed about in a huge puddle in the car park.
Tuesday I had speech with Nicky, and it went really well.
By Wednesday I was feeling a little unwell, so I spent Wednesday and Thursday at home recouping.
Friday morning I was well enough to go back to school, sporting my bandana for Bandana Day sponsored by the Sunflower Fund in support of cancer. Even Daddy wore a bandana, but as a pocket-chief with his suit. He looked really nice.
When Mommy collected me from school she announced that we’d decided to go to Sun City for the weekend. I screamed in delight. Lauren had gone to a wedding so there was no OT. It was really fortuitous as Mom and I headed home to start packing. Granny arrived as well and again I screamed in delight. Next I FaceTimed Daddy at work and told him to come home soon so that we could leave for our mini holiday.
Not long after we were on the road and just before it got dark we arrived.
This time we had one of the new two bedroom units in front of the Honeymoon Grove and putt-putt course. It was awesome, and the Vacation Club Pool was a stone’s throw away. We walked around the complex and I ended up having a great swim by myself in the pool after dark. I was wrapped in Mom’s shirt to keep warm on the short trip home and then into a warm bath.
Saturday we spent the morning at Valley of the Waves where I swam and played. Afterward some gaming ensued and then back to the chalet to chill for the afternoon. We spent the evening back at the Entertainment Centre to escape the 38C heat!
We headed off to The Palm Terrace at the Cabanas for breakfast on Sunday morning. Chef Andrew had arranged a table for us and we had a delightful breakfast. Afterwards we went down to the lake where I played on the jungle gym, ran around in the underground tunnels and swung on the swing.
Daddy then enquired about the boating and pretty soon Mom, Dad and I were in life jackets ready to hop into a speed boat, but not before Daddy had a quick lesson in piloting the craft. Daddy docked expertly to collect Mommy and I and off we get. Pretty soon Daddy was confident enough to take the speed craft to its full potential. We bounced over the wakes and we giggled in delight. It was awesome.
After the thrilling ride we decided to head back to the chalet to cool off as the temperatures were again heading toward 40C.
Back at the chalet we played ball games, snakes and ladders and I squirted water at the monkeys that were lurking about looking for tidbits. It was hilarious – the monkeys would peak in the windows and Daddy and I would storm at them roaring to scare them off – they’re a real nuisance and mustn’t be fed, so we were keeping them at bay.
The afternoon was spent lazing about at the Vacation Club Pool where we swam and ate pizzas. After the sun had set we headed back to the chalet where I promptly fell asleep.
‘Til next week.
Love,
Jay-Bee
