Ciao,

I’m pretty overwhelmed, as it’s been an exciting few days. So, being at a loss for words, I figured I should go back to 1974 and borrow some lyrics from The Hollies to title today’s blog. Why exciting may you wonder? Well, as of this evening, I’ve been off my little ventilator for a full day and a half. As an added bonus I was taken off oxygen earlier today, so the only tube attached to me at the moment is a feeding tube (apart from an intravenous line in my little shoulder).

The cherry on top is that both my Mom and Dad have now had a chance to hold me as well, after waiting for almost two weeks to do this again. I had a batch of echo scans done today, but I’ve not yet managed to check out these results. Furthermore, tomorrow I’m going for an MRI Scan (magnetic resonance imaging) of my head to check out my brain functions and, more importantly, to see how successful my little procedure of last Friday was.

During the past week and weekend my Oma, Opa and Granny came to visit me. So things are really getting back to relative normality.

Again, my deepest and sincerest thanks to everyone for your beautiful emails and SMS that you keep sending to my Mom and Dad – they’re truly inspirational and I know they keep my Mom and Dad going. Also, thank you for continuously keeping me in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time and keeping up to speed with my progress.

Love

Now that is the way that life should be – Pictures of Mom holding Baby, Dad holding Baby and of course the doting Grandparents. Wonderful to see that Jarrod is slowly but surely breaking the “shackles” that are keeping him apart from everyone. Really wish we could be there to see you all – We will obviously try and make it before the “time capsule” gets opened 🙂

    Love and best wishes

How absolutely brilliant! Hour by hour, day by day. The news gets better by degrees. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon. I think we need a catch up with your mom and dad quite soon, though.

Carry on getting better and stronger little Angel

And be very glad you are in the warm hospital because it’s VERY chilly out here today.
